House Music Competition 2018
This week has seen the heats and finals of the House Music Competition, with the winners announced this afternoon. The criteria set by Mr Cousins was challenging but the participating pupils did brilliantly and showed off their musical skills in the heats yesterday, demonstrating the quality of the music in the school.
There have been plenty of performances in various music styles over the last couple of days with over 80 pupils participating in the heats. The winners of the different classes were then invited back to perform recitals at the start of this afternoon’s concert in front of the whole school. The afternoon finished with the greatly anticipated House Singing contest.
Wrapping up, Mr Jones congratulated everyone on participating and being so supportive of each other and listening with genuine interest and enjoyment.
Thank you to Mr Cousins and Mrs Shouksmith who have worked tirelessly on the event, and to Mr Jordan, Director of Music at Eastbourne College, who came along as part of the judging panel. Well done to all involved and to VCs for winning the House Music Competition Cup! What a fantastic way to end the half term.
