U12 Rugby Success
Congratulations to the U12 Rugby Team who beat Dorothy Stringer in the Play-Off Finals at Brighton RFC.
The game started at great pace and the Stringer winger scored twice in the first 10 minutes to put the Brighton side in the lead and a commanding position. St Andrew’s however clawed their way back and a great solo effort from Ethan relieved the deficit. The forwards began to gain the upper hand with some tenacious rucking and Denzil scored from close range. At half time St Andrew’s led by 20-15. Immediately after the interval, Stringer scored with a superb running try and the game remained tight until the last 10 minutes when Denzil’s strength proved too strong for the opposition and he powered over the try line twice from inside the 22. A final try to make the score 40-20 to St Andrew’s was scored by Theo. A great effort by the boys who finished in third place in the Sussex Cup.
