House Music 2019
On the last day of the half term, the whole school gathered in the Durlacher Gym for the annual House Music competition final. This marked the conclusion of an intense but enjoyable week of rehearsals and heats for the 130 pupils who entered the solo classes and for every Year 3 – 8 pupil – all of whom performed in their House songs which carried a Disney theme this year.
The solo finalists (25 in total) performed an array of styles, to a superb standard, quite brilliantly and demonstrated maturity and confidence to perform on stage in front of the whole school. Ultimately, as has so often been the case, the competition came down to the eagerly-anticipated House Songs – all of which were tremendous fun. Many congratulations to all who took part and to Rovers in particular who claimed the trophy.
Thank you to Mr Cousins and his team who did a fantastic job organising the event – one of the most exciting and enjoyable whole-school events in the year.
