Exeat boarding trip to Oxford
Last weekend was the first exeat of the term, and whilst some were resting, a group of 14 boarders, accompanied by Mr Jones and Mr Cousins, enjoyed an action-packed trip to the stunning university town of Oxford.
In picture perfect conditions, the children gave punting on the river Cherwell a go! As they set off in their punts from Cherwell Boathouse, it very soon became apparent that while a few found the river banks and boats tricky to circumnavigate others were complete naturals and avoided any obstacles in their way.
The trip also included a visit to the Bodleian Library, a bus tour, a visit to the Ashmolean Museum, ice skating and shopping. After a day exploring the city, the group refuelled with some pizza next to Oxford Castle, and on the following morning, they were very happy to find out that there was an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast at the hotel!
All in all, it was an extremely enjoyable weekend and a great way to relax and have fun over the exeat. The children are already very much looking forward to the next boarding trip to London in the January exeat.
