Year 2 Intergenerational Opera workshop
Year 2 had a great time at the Sunrise nursing home on Tuesday when they took part in an Intergenerational Opera workshop. The children were led by two excellent opera singers from Glyndebourne including our very own Mrs Wicks who teaches singing here. Accompaniment was provided by a professional pianist and oboist.
The children met residents of the nursing home and spent time chatting and singing with them and learning bits of music and movement associated with the opera Hansel and Gretel. The children also worked together with the residents to come up with ideas for an informal performance at the end of the morning.
In terms of musical content and social interaction, this trip was extremely worthwhile.
