St Andrew’s Prep boarding is booming
St Andrew’s Prep is delighted to release its new boarding film which demonstrates that it has some of the best prep school boarding facilities in the country. With every bedroom, bathroom, corridor and landing refurbished over the last two years and the introduction of a medical area (the Colstocks Cabin), a snack room and additional lounges for the children to relax in, the area is hygge (a defining characteristic of Danish culture): warm, vibrant, comfortable and homely.

St Andrew’s Prep has an experienced, nurturing boarding team, led by Housemaster, Mark Tomsett. He is supported by his wife, Trudy; the school’s live-in nurse Sister Vicks (and her gentle, faithful Spaniel, Emme) and three boarding tutors. Together, the team offers a safe, happy, family environment where the pupils develop their social and life skills and make friends for life.
Headmaster Gareth Jones says, “Our boarding numbers are stronger than they have been for years because we are offering flexibility, fun, friendship and fabulous facilities. Our boarders grow in confidence, learn to become more independent and take advantage of the co-curricular opportunities before and after school as well as the fantastic weekend trips and our location by the sea. For some of our busy, working parents, the boarding option makes financial sense too once they have factored in childcare and transport costs.”
St Andrew’s Prep provides full and weekly boarding but, if space allows, parents can book their child in for ad-hoc nights too while others book in for regular nights each week.
Colstocks caters for up to 60 pupils at any one time and we’re immensely proud that children from 14 countries from around the globe have called Colstocks their home over the last 12 months.
