St Andrew’s Prep is included in top 50 cricket prep schools for second consecutive year
For the second consecutive year, St Andrew’s Prep is delighted to have been included in the top 50 cricket prep schools in the country by The Cricketer Good Schools Guide 2020 magazine. The publication received a record number of submissions (over 350 across prep and senior schools) and schools were judged against an extensive set of criteria with the successful few deemed to have the best facilities, fixture programme and coaching in the country.
Gareth Jones commented, “With our 1st XI boys winning the U13 Sussex County Cup and finishing third at the IAPS National Cup it is fitting that St Andrew’s Prep has been included in this superb and influential publication once again. Our cricketers benefit from our superb indoor and outdoor practice and playing facilities which allow us to host local cricket clubs in addition to our own schools fixtures. All our girls and boys, from Year 3 to Year 8, learn to appreciate this wonderful game and to achieve their own potential with many involved at local club, district and county level.”
The school benefits from the superb coaching expertise of Head of Cricket, Mark Tomsett (MCC YC’s Captain and Sussex 2nd XI), and Cricket professionals, Rob Ferley (Kent & Nottinghamshire) and James Tredwell (England & Kent).
Mark Tomsett said, “To be included in this publication is a wonderful achievement. Whilst our 1st XI will rightly get the plaudits after a wonderful summer, I hope this entry also shows that we value and develop all of our cricketers at St Andrew’s Prep.”
The guide is included with the regular December issue of The Cricketer (available on the newsstand from November 22). As well as appearing in print alongside the world’s No.1 cricket magazine, the guide will also be made available on The Cricketer website from Friday, December 13.
