The Advent Fair was a Cracker
Congratulations once again to the Friends of St Andrew’s for organising another fabulous Advent fair. The Durlacher Gym was decorated beautifully and was home to an array of local, independent business stalls selling, among other items, jewellery, children’s toys, decorations, artwork, Christmas fare and cards. The Year 7 entrepreneurial stalls were extremely popular as was the Jolly Jam Jar raffle and the Crossfit trainer to which people were invited to burn as many calories as they could in 30 seconds. It was quite a sight seeing parents and pupils take up the crossfit challenge in their Christmas jumpers! The craft stalls saw a steady stream of younger children making lovely decorations and the school choir sang carols to get shoppers into the festive mood.
Father Christmas was extremely busy with a stream of eager visitors keen to talk to him about their wishlists and the Christmas café was packed as families enjoyed a delicious selection of homemade cakes, soups, and drinks.
Headmaster, Gareth Jones said, “Many thanks as always to the amazing Friends of St Andrew’s who have staged another magnificent event. They transform many areas of the school into a winter wonderland. We are enormously grateful to them, our staff and our pupils who gave their time and creativity so generously and willingly.”
