Join the nation in the 2.6 challenge to help charities
You will be aware that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities with the cancellation of thousands of fundraising events leading to the loss of billions in income for charities large and small. Many of these charities, including St Andrew’s Prep’s nominated charity Heads Together, have had to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable members of society need them most; thousands of staff have been placed on furlough and many charities will not survive the next few months.
And so, some brilliant organisations have got together to create the 2.6 challenge. No, you don’t need to be able to run a marathon … this is a challenge for all ages and abilities. You simply need to come up with your own activity based around the number 26 or 2.6 and complete it on or from Sunday 26 April.
You could give a family member a piggyback around the garden 26 times. Or you could get together with 26 friends on Zoom and do 26 yoga moves. You could put on your St Andrew’s Prep tie 26 times in 26 minutes or do 26 star jumps… the only limit is that you must make sure you respect the guidelines about social distancing.
So, if you can join in, or make a donation here.
St Andrew’s Prep families, please share your pictures via padlet (with an all-important caption including the name of your family) or you can contact us, or even DM St Andrew’s Prep on Facebook.
Do get involved and we wish you the best of luck with your own 2.6 Challenge.
Save lives. Be a Home Heroes and make 26 April a day to remember.
