St Andrew’s Prep named finalist in two national boarding awards – all within 24 hours
St Andrew’s Prep has been named a finalist in the 2020 Boarding School Association Awards in the Boarding House Extension or Refurbishment Award category. This nomination follows on the day after the school announced it had been moved from shortlist to finalist in the 2020 Independent School of the Year Awards for International Student Experience hosted by Independent School Parent magazine.
In its third year, the BSA Awards provide schools with an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, hard work and dedication of schools and individuals to boarding.
Gareth Jones, Headmaster said, “To be named finalists in not one but two prestigious awards within 24 hours of each other is thrilling.
“The BSA nomination is testament to the hard work of my colleagues in Facilities Management and Maintenance who are to be applauded for their constant endeavours to ensure the House has a warm and contemporary feel that our boarders deserve and expect.”
Nick Chapman, Head of Facilities Management commented, “In addition to providing a real home for our boarders, where social integration is key, we also took this refurbishment as a real opportunity to maximise the space available to create a flexible, futureproof boarding house. All of the work was carried out by local trades and fixtures and fittings were all sourced locally.”
The winners will be announced at the BSA’s Annual Conference for Heads which will be taking place virtually on Wednesday 23 September.
