Scholarships and Bursaries
Recognising and supporting excellence.
Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to children who show outstanding potential academically or in Art, Drama, Performing Arts, Music or Sport. We offer a tailored programme of provision and support for scholars to enhance, develop and inspire their particular area of talent.
Scholarships are prestigious awards and carry with them privilege and responsibility. The example scholars set will make them natural leaders among their peer group and we hope that they will both enjoy and make the most of the opportunity. Therefore, scholarships are awarded following a strictly moderated open competition.
Assessments are held each Spring Term and are available to external and internal candidates. Scholarships awarded to successful candidates will commence in the Autumn Term following the Spring Term assessments. The Scholarship booklet for 2025 entry is below.

Bursaries
St Andrew’s Prep is committed to extending access to the school. We offer means-tested financial support to a number of pupils each year. These bursaries are separate from scholarships. Bursaries are offered in recognition of financial need.
The amount of a bursary award is calculated individually and the maximum offered is unlikely to exceed 50 percent. If a joint scholarship and bursary is awarded, then the amount of the scholarship is usually subsumed within the bursary and these combined awards are unlikely to exceed 50 percent.
All bursaries are means-tested and parents are asked to complete a comprehensive financial circumstances form which should be submitted to the Finance Bursar. Bursaries are set according to the guidelines laid down by the Independent Schools’ Bursars’ Association and are processed by our partner, Bursary Administration Limited, who will conduct a meeting with the parents to gain full understanding of the financial circumstances of the family.
