Children in Years 3 to 6 were entertained by the highly sought after football journalist and children’s author, Dan Freedman today. Dan is the creator of the hugely popular Jamie Johnson books which are currently being serialised on CBBC.
Dan spoke about his journey from reluctant reader but massive football fan to become a football journalist who travelled to two World Cups as a part of the official England Team set up. It was the experience of working and living with some of the best players in the world including Messi, Ronaldo, Gerrard and Rooney that inspired him to start writing the Jamie Johnson books.
Dan also spoke about the determination and resilience he needed to get his books published and how one learns from one’s mistakes as well as one’s successes.
Inspired and encouraged to read more, the children were thrilled to meet Dan at the book signing following a question and answer session.
