Apart from exeat weekends (when there are no children in school), the Saturday Morning Activities Programme is run for all children (day and boarding) in Year 4 upwards from 9am until 12.30pm. There are four sessions each Saturday morning. Children can select the activities to which they wish to sign up. Activities include fencing, carpentry, hockey, Saturday strolls, programming, patchwork, squash, golf, drama and water polo.

On some Saturdays, matches take place in the afternoon, as well as some activities on-site for children who aren’t involved in sport. There is usually a trip into Eastbourne town centre too.

On Sunday morning, breakfast is in a very relaxed manner with children enjoying their meal in the dining room in their slippers and pyjamas. There are always activities arranged over the weekend. Boarders visit local attractions and also go on trips further afield, such as Brighton, London or theme parks.

“The boarding house is like my family. I never feel alone and have lots of friends. My favourite trips have been to the London EYE and the Premier League football match between Brighton and Newcastle.”
Nicolas from Spain

Boarders spend leisure time on-site with use of the wide range of facilities on offer, for example, the sports hall, tennis courts and expansive school fields. Boarders often invite day children to stay at weekends. Exeat weekends allow all the boarders to go out for the weekend whether it is with guardians, parents or friends.
