Brighton and Eastbourne Music Festivals 2019
We are immensely proud of all our pupils who took part in the Brighton and Eastbourne Music Festivals last weekend and of the results we have received, there are some stand out achievements from a number of the children.
Amid tough opposition at both Eastbourne and Brighton, and with many of the entrants considerably older than him, Gregory Ashley Taylor competed in six individual competitions across the weekend and was placed in each achieving the follows:
Eastbourne Clarinet Bronze Medal Recital Class 15 years and under – 1st with distinction and awarded Bronze medal which makes him eligible to enter Silver grade competitions
Clarinet Examination Music Grade 5 and 6 – 1st with Distinction ( and a cup)
Brighton
Woodwind Grade 4 and 5 – 2nd with distinction
Piano 20th/21st Century including impressionist (10-14 Years) – 1st with distinction
Piano Romantic to 1975 (12 years and under) – 3rd with distinction
Woodwind Junior Recital – any age – 3rd with distinction
Annushka Birch’s performances were also very accomplished at the Eastbourne Festival where she gained the following:
Solo Piano 8 years and under – 1st with distinction
Piano Duet 11 years and under – 1st place with distinction
Pupil and Teacher Duet 8 or 9 years – 2nd place with distinction
Examination Class Grades 3 and 4 any age – 2nd place with distinction
Also competing at the Eastbourne Festival, Mishel Fooks also attained great results achieving:
Piano Grade 4 and 5 – 2nd overall
U14s Classical Romantic Piano completion – 1st place
