EYEE Funding

Children can receive Early Years Education Entitlement.

From September 2024, eligible working parents of children aged nine months plus will be able to access 15 hours of support. These hours can be used during term time. For further details on eligibility, please see here Homepage | Childcare Choices.

The universal funding for three- and four-year-olds starts from the term after their third birthday, dependant on the cut-off dates of 1 September, 1 January, and 1 April, and ends when they reach compulsory school age, this being the term after their fifth birthday.

The school requires that nursery sessions are booked and arranged on a termly basis. Parents can of course increase the number of sessions that their child attends during the term, however, for three- and four-year-olds, EYEE sessions cannot be added after the Headcount Day which is stipulated by East Sussex County Council at the beginning of each term. Therefore, any additional sessions are charged at the full rate.

It is possible to claim from more than one setting (Nursery) if the claim does not exceed 15 hours each week. It is necessary to state this on the parental agreement form which is sent out to parents before the start of each term.

East Sussex Council will not allow funding to be transferred from one provider to another unless the correct required notice has been given to the current provider as set out in their terms and conditions.
