Olympic Gold Masterclass
Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist Crista Cullen thrilled some lucky St Andrew’s Prep and Eastbourne College pupils this afternoon with a hockey masterclass at the Eastbourne College astro pitches.
Crista developed the girls’ skills using drills which took the players out of their comfort zone, focussing on aerial passes and shooting off the wrong foot.
The obligatory group photo with Crista wearing her Olympic medal and an autograph session followed.
In the Rio Olympics final, Crista scored a goal for GB against the defending champions Netherlands to take the match to a 3-3 draw before the dramatic and historic penalty shootout, which resulted in the GB Women’s team claiming their first Olympic hockey gold medal.
