Pippa selected for London Children’s Ballet tour
Pippa Gough has recently been offered a place on the London Children’s Ballet touring company, with the tour itself running from 23rd to 27th February. She is currently making the journey up to London every weekend to rehearse.
To be selected for the tour, Pippa went through an intense audition process at the end of last year involving more than 1,000 children aged 9-15. From the auditions, 50 children were selected to form the main performing company, the production this year being Anne of Green Gables. A further 36 children were selected to form three touring companies, each made up of 12 children, who will perform extracts of the main ballet to those who would otherwise not be able to afford or physically access live ballet. Pippa has been invited to perform in one of these touring companies and will be performing to residential care homes, hospices, day centres and Special Educational Needs schools as part of the tour.
It is an incredible achievement for Pippa to have been selected to represent the London Children’s Ballet. We know this will be an extremely enriching experience and cannot wait to hear more about the tour once Pippa has performed.
