Sponsored walk 2018
Following on from the success of the BBQ, cinema and camping evening on Friday, staff, pupils, parents and friends (some more bleary-eyed than others) were ready for the sponsored walk challenge to raise money for Canine Partners and Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Thankfully, conditions for walking were perfect, with some light cloud cover, a mild breeze and great visibility out to the English Channel shipping lane. A number of pupils were excited to see what looked like floating container ships on the horizon. The Pre-Prep pupils were happy to return to school after their three mile walk to Horseshoe plantation, while the majority of the Middles and Seniors carrying on for the seven mile route. A hardy bunch took on the challenge of the 11-miler. Hats off to one of the youngest ‘walkers’ who completed most of the route on his balance bike!
On return to St Andrew’s Prep, and after re-fuelling on hot dogs and burgers it was on to the much anticipated Dog Show, with classes including the most handsome dog, the prettiest bitch, the dog the umpire would most like to take home, the waggiest tailed dog and the dog who looked most like his owner.
