St Andrews Prep excel at East Sussex Table Tennis Championships

Twenty-two students from Years 5 to 8 travelled to Patcham School to compete in the East Sussex Individual Table Tennis Championships. The children showcased impressive skill and passion throughout their matches, always maintaining sportsmanship, regardless of whether they won or lost.

In the U11 girls’ competition, there were some outstanding performances, with Bea Richardson securing third place and Pari Chanadara finishing as runner-up. In the U13 girls’ event, Charlotte M earned a well-deserved third place after a series of tough matches.

The U11 boys’ competition was equally competitive. Following some brilliant group-stage performances, Luca A and Harry G reached the semifinals after battling through several nail-biting matches.

Our U13 competitors dominated their category, with special mention to Finley M, who, in his first tournament, made it all the way to the semifinals. The final of the U13 event was an all-St. Andrew’s Prep showdown, featuring some brilliant table tennis. In a thrilling finish, Samson was crowned Sussex Champion, while Herbie G was the runner-up.

This is our highest achievement at this competition, a testament to the children’s enthusiasm for the sport and their dedication to practicing during break times and at the clubs they’ve joined.

Thank you to Miss Carter for supporting the girls at the tournament
