A surprise thank you song from our pupils to their teachers
On the final day of term the Headmaster, Mr Jones, was handed a USB. This was swiftly followed by a message sent to him via Teams which read, “Dear Mr Jones, we have been secretly creating this surprise gift for you and all the teachers. It comes with many, many thanks from Year 8 and all your pupils. We hope you enjoy it.” Curious, Mr Jones pressed play!
The video included almost 100 contributions from pupils across the school who had adapted the words of Abba’s Thank You for the Music to Thank You to the Teachers.
Mr Jones said, “On behalf of all the teachers, I want to thank everyone for such a kind, touching and personal gift. It has been an extraordinary term during which our pupils have all had to adapt, to be flexible and to become more independent; but none of us – the children nor the staff – have lost our sense of community, togetherness or humour. To pull together a song with contributions from children across the year groups at a time like this is a sign of unity and camaraderie which, happily, our school has in abundance.”
