Top Teacher Award
It’s not just our pupils who have been winners this week. On Friday night, the Headmaster Gareth Jones picked up the Top Teacher trophy at the More Radio Awards evening staged at All Saints Chapel.
Kindly nominated by parents, Mr Jones told the assembled guests, “I am honoured but I feel like a bit of a cheat here because I don’t feel I have been at the school long enough and the other winners whose stories we’ve heard today are so much more deserving.” He continued, “Education for me is about making sure every child feels valued for being an individual and for the things that they can do so that they can be the best person that they can be. Our job, as teachers, is to inspire them. Great schools aren’t great because of their buildings or facilities. They’re great because of the people who work within them and the drive and dynamism that they have. So this award isn’t for me at all but for each of the staff at St Andrew’s Prep.”
