Young Engineers Challenge
Congratulations to the four Year 7 pupils who represented the school in this year’s Young Engineers challenge last week. Hannah, Noah, Pietro and Xanthe coped extremely well with a tough task which consisted of making a transporter bridge from some newspaper and cardboard. It required teamwork, precision and careful assembly. They also had to construct a winding mechanism from some KNEX that would pull a heavy load across a ‘river’ between the two tall towers. Their bridge coped with the lighter load but could not support the heavier, intermediate, load of 2.5 Kg. In the final results the pupils came second. Well done to all concerned.
